New international cooperation agreement in Intellectual Property

This week was signed in Cannes, France, a cooperation agreement between the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) and the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property Agents (Abapi in Portuguese). The partnership is expected to attract more members to both organizations by promoting national and international events and exchanging information from experts about IP.

The project coordination is the responsibility of Abapi’s vice president, Gabriel Di Blasi: “This partnership has everything to leverage the IP community in Brazil and abroad, with the exchange of information and professionals and high level in matters related to patents, brands, industrial designs, and other intellectual property rights”.

The agreement was signed by FICPI President, Julian Crump, Abapi President, Alvaro Loureiro Oliveira, FICPI Vice President, Ivan Ahlert, and Abapi Vice President, Gabriel Di Blasi. Under the coordination of Gabriel Di Blasi, a committee will be created to supervise the interactions between Abapi and FICPI, including communication, resolutions, and relevant updates to the IP area. Thus, the Brazilian community will be updated with the latest in the international IP sphere and FICPI will have the opportunity to get more Brazilian members and more access to the reality of Brazilian practices.
