In order to achieve more uniform and predictable patent analysis, the BPTO has launched a third public consultation to clarify patent issues.
After a consultation on software and utility models, the topic is now: guidelines for the examination of patent applications.
As of the publication of the public consultation in the Court Gazette dated on 25 July, the interested parties have a 60-day period to submit their suggestions to the email address saesp@inpi.gov.br, by fax (21) 3037 -3638 or directly to one of the Register services of the BPTO, through the appropriate form (in doc). The form is also available in odt-format.

All content has been prepared and reviewed by the Technical Board of the Patent Department. The ultimate aim with the suggestions is to harmonize the guidelines and disseminate them widely in society.
The guideline for the examination of patent applications is one of the main projects of the BPTO for the period 2011-2015, managed by the researcher Ricardo Iorio Garcia, of the Patent Board. For more information, please write to saesp@inpi.gov.br.
