Cláudio was a tenured professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-EAESP) from 1974 to 2022, where he taught Investment Strategy, Corporate Finance, Private Equity, and Venture Capital. He is the author of professional articles, a speaker at international conferences, and the co-author of the books The First and Second Brazilian Censuses of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Industry. He has served as an expert witness in several national and international arbitrations, was a member of various Boards of Directors, and specializes in Applied Business Economics, Corporate Finance and Strategy, Investments, Private Equity, and Venture Capital.

He is the author of professional articles and a speaker at international conferences. He co-authored The First Brazilian Census of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Industry (2006) and The Private Equity and Venture Capital Industry: The Second Census (May 2011).

Cláudio is a member of ABVCAP and a founding member of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC). He is also a GFCC Distinguished Fellow. Founded in 2010, GFCC brings together organizations dedicated to innovation and competitiveness, government agencies, companies, and universities from over 30 countries. Together, they work on competitive strategies and share best practices to promote innovation, productivity, and prosperity (as of March 2023).

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1971), a Master’s in Business Administration from FGV-EAESP (1978), and a Master of Business Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (1980), where he also pursued doctoral studies in Finance (candidacy, 1982). He earned his PhD in Business Administration from FGV in 1997. His areas of expertise include Business Administration and Applied Business Economics, Corporate Finance and Strategy, Investments, Private Equity, and Venture Capital.
